VOLUNTARY SECTOR COMPACT
A Voluntary Sector Compact was signed on 18 March 2008 between Midlothian Council and Midlothian Voluntary Action, on behalf of the voluntary sector.
The Compact acknowledges that the voluntary sector and the Council have their own
spheres of action with different roles, responsibilities and resources. In terms of value
to Midlothian, the Voluntary sector makes a significant contribution to the local
economy and to the delivery of public policy objectives.
The close partnership of Councils and Local Voluntary groups is an integral part of successful public service delivery and mutually beneficial.
The Compact is monitored by a working group made up of members of the Voluntary Sector Forum (Compact sub-group) and Midlothian Council representatives.
If there are any issues you want to raise about the working of the Compact, please contact MVA, tel: 0131 663 9471, or email us using the Contact Form.
